Environment Background Color changes lighting

I’d like to report another issue I have with 2023.3 is the influence Background Color option has in the lighting.
In previous versions I could change between Background Color, Lighting Environment and Backplate Image freely without influencing the model.
Today I just noticed why I’m not getting the results I’m used to.

Comparing a preview of Background Lightting Envrionment vs Color:

I depend on a solid background color to matte the models correctly during post production.

I can not reproduce. This is a cube with a red background color and the default startup lighting environment. I have tried it with a diffuse and a metal material on the cube. On my end, the cube looks the exact same no matter what…

Maybe I could share the ksp and you could take a look, please?
I understand that this is not expected behavior.

Yes, feel free to share the file with me @rui.antunes

Here you go. Thank you.

I think it might be related to Generic material and Sheen.
